Making Christmas Memories
December is here and putting up a Christmas tree is on.
No matter how you get your tree, or whom you get your tree with, this simple task can be a fun time for you and your family, friends or maybe going alone and making a special day of it.
My heart for everyone this time of year is to make some special memories and to remember what Christmas is all about.
Slowing down needs to happen in this all too consuming world.
My family will get a permit from the forest service, and take the big truck with good four-wheel drive and find the back roads to find our tree. We have had a few crazy moments.
One year we had Thanksgivings with friends out in Utah early the next day after we went up into the mountains and cut our Christmas tree, we had so much fun climbing those snow-covered roads into an Aspen filled forest. The evergreens were up the hill from the Aspens, and the wind started to pick up, and the bitter cold made our feet and hands go a bit numb. But what a day we will never forget. And memories were made. Now we can look back and laugh at how we then hauled that tree 12 hours home.
Whether you live at the beach or in the city, mountains or subdivisions, take time to make memories eat cookies have hot cocoa or an exceptional coffee, share your time with friends and family.
And for those who are hurting during this time of year, our thoughts are with you. Take time to remember those who have lost loved ones and care for the lonely.
Making memories can come in all different ways and my prayer for you is, you find time to slow down and enjoy the trees, lights, and magic of the season.
If you have any thoughts or want to share with me, email I would love to hear from you. Carrie
